This song came about much like many others do. I began playing chords on my guitar and sometimes chords start to become magical! They sound just better than all the other chords or notes i'm playing at that time. I played the first part of the Em7 chord and the rest started to come to me. I was frustrated at the time with my music and didn't feel like I was good enough. So I wrote about that. I started thinking about how prisoners are shackeled to a ball and chain for life somewhat like me with my music. For better or for worse it's apart of me and I can't shake it if I wanted to. So I started writing about that and began to realize how much this probably connects with other people. We all have goals and inspirations and we all have things we want to achieve. We all work hard on our own grindstones. I hope you enjoy and keep grinding. Because someday soon you will prevail as well.
